Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club

of South Australia Inc.

About The Club

Our club was formed in 1990 and since that time, our focus has always been on making a positive contribution
towards the welfare and future of our wonderful breed.

Membership is open to all, including pet owners and those involved in conformation showing,
obedience, agility/jumping or any other activities.

Our club provides services to members and Cavalier owners in the following ways:

  • A club newsletter is published & distributed four times each year.  Through our newsletter, we endeavour to ensure members are kept up to date with club events, health issues, show and fun day results and general information. The newsletter also contains news items of interest, stories, articles, photos and other bits and pieces. We welcome and encourage contributions from members.

Newsletters are available on-line via an email link for those members who are happy to receive them in this format.

  • Two "Cavalier Capers" fun days are held each year for pet owners and their families and Cavaliers. These include fun events and activities for children, adults and their Cavaliers, food stalls, a trading table, a grooming demonstration and a raffle.

  • A Cavalier Specialty Championship Show is held each year with a Cavalier Specialist judge from overseas.

  • A Puppy Referral Service is maintained for the general public.
Only registered breeders who have lodged a Breeder's Declaration with the club secretary, stating that their breeding stock does not suffer from or is tested for hereditary diseases relevant to our breed can have their contact details passed on to the enquiring public.

  • A Rescue and Rehoming Service is provided for Cavaliers that, through no fault of their own, need a loving new home.  All Cavaliers coming into our Rescue Service are microchipped, desexed and undergo a comprehensive medical examination prior to  rehoming.  In the interim, they live as part of the Rescue Co-ordinator's (or another Committee member's) "Cavalier family", enabling accurate assessment of temperament
and individual requirements prior to rehoming.

  • Breed education displays are provided at the Dogs SA Open Day and other Pet Expos and Events. Breed Information Leaflets are also available at the Royal Adelaide Show from the Dogs SA stand.

  • Members of our committee regularly run Sausage Sizzles at Bunnings (Prospect) to raise money for the club.

As with all breed clubs, our committee and other members voluntarily give their time, dedication and commitment to ensuring the welfare
and well-being of our lovely breed. Great pride is taken in ensuring our club functions are successful,
with feedback from members indicating that our efforts are greatly appreciated.

New members are very welcome.
