I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Committee of the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of South Australia for their kind invitation to judge their show. This was my first time judging in Australia, thank you all for making me feel so welcome. I very much enjoyed judging dogs I had not seen before, all had the correct Cavalier balance. No dogs with short stubby legs and deep bodies which seems to be the fashion at the moment!! Overall I thought that the bitches were a little more consistent in type than the dogs, this bodes well for the future of our lovely breed. I especially enjoyed judging the baby puppy classes, a new experience for me. Thank you to my very able steward for her hard work keeping the ring running smoothly. Finally special thanks must go to the exhibitors for the sporting way they accepted my decisions on the day, especially as I was a replacement judge. Thank you so much for bringing your lovely dogs, I thoroughly enjoyed my day!
